Questions
Is my audio uploaded anywhere?
No. Decoding, rendering and encoding all happen in this tab using WebAudio and WebCodecs. There is no server that receives your files, and there is no account to make.
What is an audiogram?
An audiogram is a short video built around a piece of audio: a still or simple background, an animated waveform, and usually a title or cover art. Audio alone cannot be posted to most social feeds, so an audiogram is how podcast clips, voice notes and music snippets get shared.
Which browsers can export?
Export needs the WebCodecs VideoEncoder API, which means Chrome or Edge on desktop, and recent Chrome on Android. Firefox and older Safari can still load audio and use the live preview, they just cannot write the MP4 yet.
How long can the clip be?
Five minutes. Longer clips take a lot of memory to encode in a browser tab, and most feeds cut you off well before that anyway.
What size file should I expect?
Roughly 1 to 1.5 MB per second of video at the default quality. A 30 second square audiogram usually lands between 30 and 45 MB, which every platform accepts.
Does it work on a phone?
The editor and preview work on phones. Export works on recent Chrome for Android. On iPhone, use the preview to design your clip and export from a desktop browser.
Why is the exported audio sometimes Opus?
Some browsers ship AAC decoding but not AAC encoding. When that happens wayvl writes Opus audio into the MP4 instead and tells you. It plays everywhere modern, but if a platform rejects it, export again from Chrome or Edge on desktop.
Can I use it commercially?
Yes. The files you make are yours. You are responsible for having the rights to the audio and images you put in.
